Focusing mainly on an independent Republic of California, it also gives occasional glimpes of events in the rest of the world. Interesting features include a focus on railway, trolley and airship history, a far weaker and far less widespread industrial revolution than in our history and the Russian imperial family getting killed in 1908 by… creative means… sparking a WWI-esque conflict (with airships and autogyros, but no biplanes, oh my !).
