AH.com politics

Overview

Like many of the historical states we spend our time thinking about, AH.com has an elected assembly with no real power. This was first instituted in 2006. There is also an AH.com Cabinet. Together these make up His Administratorness’ Government of the Imperial Republic of AH.com, and these attempt to rule AH.com in the name of Ian the Admin through the office of the President of AH.com.

Elements and Officers of the Government

President of AH.com

The highest elected office in His Administratorness’ Government. Sargon has served as the 3rd President of AH.com since August 3, 2008.

Vice President of AH.com

A newer post created by Sargon during his Acting Presidency, there are two Vice Presidents serving at once. Midgard and Thande have served as the 2nd pair of Vice Presidents of AH.com since their appointments on August 4, 2008.

AH.com Cabinet

A body appointed by the President consisting of Ministers, each a member of an executive department. The 2008 Cabinet of AH.com was appointed by President Sargon on August 4, 2008.

Parliament of AH.com

The elected legislature of AH.com. The 2008 Parliament of AH.com opened its session on August 4, 2008.

Electoral Officer of AH.com

The individual responsible for organizing elections, posting polls, and officially tallying the results. Traditionally, this position has been held by Douglas, who served as Prime Minister August 17, 2007 to August 26, 2008.

His Administratorness, Ian

The Administrator, Chief Judiciary and Head of State of AH.com. Ian has final say over all matters civil and criminal, with the power of universal veto, kicking, and banning. He, with the assistance of the Moderators, comprises the entirety of the Judicial branch of AH.com. Ian has served as Administrator since August 30, 2000.

Elections

The Presidential and Parliamentary polls are traditionally public and NOT private votes. They are organised and considered legitimate if posted by AH.com’s resident Electoral Officer.
